For those of you just finding Thatcher Education, welcome. I'm so glad you're here. I'd love to introduce myself. I'm thrilled to relaunch Thatcher Education, and return to the work I love most-working directly with students (and their families!) to build on thier strengths, to define and meet their goals!
I'm a lifelong teacher, working to help students who might struggle, to find their voice and their place. I bring a deep commitment to exploring what is not working for a student. Then, I work to develop self awareness, knowledge, and skills to help that student move forward with greater understanding.
I am constantly working to keep up with research about how brains work, how students learn, what impacts that learning (chronic conditions such as diabetes, celiac, or trauma), and systemic challenges.
If you are working with a student who is entering high school, may be struggling to manage the increased expectations, or who, perhaps, has just had a significant life change such as recent vision loss, I bring compassionate, patient, expert support and guidance. Stay tuned for more posts as the school year kicks off.
